Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

What Is a Life Backup Plan?

When people think of a backup plan, they often think of a backup generator, in the "hope for the best, plan for the worst" scenarios of life.

A life backup plan is far more than analagous to a backup generator. It is infrastructure that connects and supports the health, safety, care, wellness, and emergency facets of your life.

Think of it like a home connected to the power grid, equipped with solar panels for everyday efficiency, and backed by a generator for emergencies. The grid powers your daily routines. The solar panels help you optimize and save. The generator protects you when something unexpected happens.

Life Backup Plan works similarly. It supports everyday health, safety monitorng and preparedness, lifestyle tracking, wellness, and coordination with your people and heallthcare professionals. At the same time, it provides structured backup for emergencies, unexpected health events, or moments when you are unavailable.

By organizing personal health, safety, preparedness, assistance, and coordination information in one secure place, Life Backup Plan creates continuity, resilience, and peace of mind suited for worst-case scenarios and everyday living alike.

It is not simply a backup. It is an Interoperable Lifecare Platform for modern life.

1. Cost and Access

How much does it cost?

The base plan, also known as the Sapphire Plan, is the only plan available as of Spring, 2026 It is $14.99 per month, with the first 30 days free.

Is there a way to earn free usage?

Yes. By spreading the word via social media and through your neighbors, friends, and family, you will not only make the app better for your community, you will earn free months of usage.

I'm extremely low income. What do I do?

If the monthly cost is a barrier, please know. We understand.

Life Backup Plan offers a scholarship program, reviewed on a case-by-case basis, to help individuals facing serious financial hardship access the app.

Scholarships are typically considered for individuals whose sole source of income is Social Security, or for those who are survivors of domestic violence or human trafficking, though other circumstances may be considered.

If you believe you may qualify, we encourage you to reach out so we can review your situation with care and discretion.

Is Life Backup Plan FSA eligible?

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) eligibility depends on your specific plan and whether the expense qualifies as a medical expense under IRS guidelines. Because Life Backup Plan includes health-related tracking and preparedness features, some users may be able to request reimbursement, particularly with a Letter of Medical Necessity from a healthcare provider.

We recommend contacting your plan administrator to confirm whether digital health or preparedness platforms qualify under your individual FSA or HSA plan. Life Backup Plan can provide documentation about the platform if requested.

I can't afford a Personal Emergency Response System. What do I do?

Traditional Personal Emergency Response Systems (PERS) can be expensive and often require specialized hardware, installation, or long-term contracts. For many individuals and families, those costs are not realistic.

Life Backup Plan is designed to be an affordable, accessible preparedness and coordination platform that works on any modern smartphone. While it is not a substitute for emergency medical response services, it includes proactive check-in capabilities that automatically prompt you at times you select and notify your emergency contacts if you do not respond. Life Backup Plan allows users to schedule as many proactive check-ins per 24 hours as they choose, based on their individual needs and preferences. This structured monitoring approach can help reduce delays in recognizing potential health or safety concerns.

Beyond check-ins, Life Backup Plan allows you to maintain comprehensive health information, emergency contacts, medications, medical history, and preparedness plans in one organized place. If something happens, the people you trust have clear visibility into what you want done next.

Effective health and safety systems do not have to be expensive. Consistent monitoring, organized information, and clear communication can meaningfully strengthen preparedness and peace of mind.

Will my insurance cover the cost of Life Backup Plan?

Insurance coverage for digital health and preparedness tools varies by provider and plan. Life Backup Plan is not currently marketed as a reimbursable medical device or clinical service.

Some health plans, employers, or care programs may choose to offer access as part of broader wellness or safety initiatives. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly to ask whether digital health or preparedness tools may be eligible for reimbursement under your specific plan.

Life Backup Plan is happy to provide documentation about the platform if requested.

Is there a free trial period?

Yes. All consumer subscriptions include a 30-day free trial, allowing you to explore the platform and determine whether it meets your needs before committing to a paid plan.

Is there a free version?

Currently, Life Backup Plan does not offer a free tier.

Our priority is to continue strengthening core features, expanding language support, and scaling the platform responsibly to ensure reliability, privacy, and long-term sustainability.

We may introduce a limited-access version in the future; however, our primary focus remains on delivering a secure, fully featured platform that maintains user trust and independence.

Is there a monthly subscription or annual plan option?

Life Backup Plan offers flexible subscription options. Please visit the pricing page for the most current plan availability and details.

Are there any hidden fees?

No. Life Backup Plan does not charge hidden fees. Subscription pricing is clearly disclosed before purchase.

If you choose to request or offer assistance through the platform, individual service providers may independently request payment, deposits, or reimbursement for goods or services provided. Any such arrangements are strictly between the requester and the provider.

Life Backup Plan does not process, manage, or take a percentage of payments exchanged between users or third parties.

What happens if I cancel?

If you cancel your subscription, your plan will remain active through the end of your current billing period. You will not be charged again after the next renewal date.

Following cancellation, your account may remain accessible for a limited period, after which your data may be archived in accordance with our data retention policies. Archived data may be retained for a period of time in case you choose to reactivate your account.

You may request permanent deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to applicable legal and compliance requirements.

Are there contracts or long term commitments?

For individual consumers, there are no long-term contracts. Monthly subscriptions may be canceled at any time. Annual subscriptions are billed for the full year at a discounted rate.

For organizations, including healthcare providers, large event organizers and venue operators, employers, government agencies, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions, contract terms may apply depending on the scope and structure of the deployment.

Can family members share one account?

Each individual must maintain their own account to ensure privacy, data integrity, and accurate health and safety records.

We plan to introduce a family billing option that will allow multiple individual accounts to be managed under a single payment source, while still preserving separate profiles for each user.

Does Medicare cover the cost of Life Backup Plan?

Medicare coverage for digital health and preparedness platforms depends on how a service is classified and whether it is delivered through an enrolled healthcare provider under specific reimbursement programs.

Life Backup Plan is not currently billed directly to Medicare as a standalone reimbursable medical service. However, healthcare providers participating in Medicare programs may incorporate digital tools into broader care management or monitoring initiatives at their discretion.

We recommend speaking with your healthcare provider or Medicare plan administrator to determine whether digital health coordination tools may be included in your specific coverage arrangement.

Does Medicaid cover the cost of Life Backup Plan?

Medicaid coverage varies by state and program structure. While Life Backup Plan is not directly billed to Medicaid as a standalone service, state Medicaid programs or managed care organizations may incorporate digital health tools into broader care coordination initiatives.

We encourage you to contact your state Medicaid office or managed care provider to ask about digital health or preparedness platform eligibility under your specific plan.

Does Medi-Cal cover the cost of Life Backup Plan?

Medi-Cal coverage policies are determined by California’s Medicaid program and participating managed care plans. Life Backup Plan is not currently billed directly to Medi-Cal as a reimbursable medical device or service. However, healthcare providers or organizations participating in Medi-Cal programs may choose to include digital coordination tools within broader care initiatives.

Please contact your Medi-Cal plan administrator for guidance regarding coverage eligibility.

Who pays for a healthcare worker or first responder if I ask for their help through the Life Backup Plan app?

Life Backup Plan does not employ, dispatch, or directly coordinate emergency medical personnel or first responders.

If you independently arrange for assistance from a healthcare provider, service professional, or other third party, any fees for those services are determined solely between you and the provider. Life Backup Plan does not set pricing, process payments, or receive compensation for services provided by third parties.

In the event of a medical emergency, users should contact local emergency services directly.

Is there special pricing for Government agencies, Employers, Non-Profit Organizations, Large Scale Event or Venue Operators, or Educational Institutions?

Yes. Life Backup Plan offers customized pricing for organizations, including government agencies, employers, nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and large-scale event or venue operators.

Organizational pricing is determined based on the size of the population served, deployment structure, and program goals. We work with each organization to design a plan aligned with its operational needs and budget.

To discuss organizational pricing and deployment options, please contact us to schedule a consultation.

2. Platform Functionality and Support

Who do I contact for Support?

For assistance, please contact our support team at support@lifebackupplan.com.

We strive to respond to all inquiries promptly. If your request involves an urgent safety matter, please contact local emergency services directly.

I feel old when wearing a pendant for a PERS system. I want safety, without advertising to the world that I'm elderly. What can you do?

Many people want safety and preparedness without visible devices that may feel stigmatizing or draw unwanted attention.

Life Backup Plan works on the smartphone you already use, without requiring specialized pendants or wearable hardware. Because it operates discreetly in the background and through scheduled check-ins, it allows you to maintain safety and coordination without changing how you present yourself to the world.

Preparedness should support independence — not signal vulnerability.

Technical and Device Functionality Questions

What if I go out of the country?

At this time, the proactive check-in and automated notification features are designed to operate with supported U.S.-based phone numbers. These features may function in regions that use the North American Numbering Plan, including certain U.S. territories, Canada, and many Caribbean countries. However, international compatibility has not been tested and cannot be guaranteed.

Your stored health information, emergency contacts, documents, and lifestyle tracking features remain accessible anywhere you have internet connectivity.

If you are traveling internationally, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with local emergency procedures and not rely solely on automated check-ins for urgent situations.

Does Life Backup Plan work on iPhone and Android?

Yes. Life Backup Plan works on both iPhone (iOS) and Android smartphones.

It does not require a newer, or flagship model.

Life Backup Plan has been successfully installed and tested on:

  • Budget Android phones

  • Lower-cost prepaid devices

  • Standard smartphones with basic internet access

We have not yet formally tested it on older iPhone models. However, Life Backup Plan is designed to function on modern iOS devices with standard internet capability, and there are no known compatibility limitations.

Life Backup Plan is designed for broad accessibility and works on both high-end and budget smartphones. It does not require expensive equipment or technology upgrades. It does not require a new or high-end phone.

If your smartphone supports current iOS or Android operating systems and has internet access, Life Backup Plan should function properly.

If you experience any difficulty installing or accessing Life Backup Plan, please contact us at support@lifebackupplan.com and our team will assist you promptly.

Does Life Backup Plan require special hardware?

No. Life Backup Plan does not require any special hardware, wearable device, base station, or proprietary equipment.

You use the smartphone you already own.

ife Backup Plan is an integrated, cloud-based digital health, safety, lifestyle, wellness, preparedness and care coordination platform. It is designed to work without requiring specialized devices or installation in your home.

There is no additional device to purchase and no hardware to install.

Future integrations with other technologies may be available, but they will always be optional — not required.

Can I use Life Backup Plan if I’m not comfortable with technology?

Yes.

Life Backup Plan was designed to be simple and intuitive. You can enter as much or as little information as you feel comfortable managing.

For proactive check-ins, all you need to be comfortable doing is tapping a large on-screen button:

  • A green area to indicate you are okay

  • A red area to indicate you need assistance

If you do not respond to a scheduled check-in, the system assumes you need assistance and notifies your designated emergency contacts according to your settings.

The check-in buttons are intentionally large and easy to see, making them simple to use for individuals who may have vision or dexterity challenges.

Many users:

  • Ask a family member to help with initial setup

  • Use it primarily for check-ins and emergency coordination

  • Gradually add more information over time

If you ever need assistance, you can contact support@lifebackupplan.com and we will help guide you.

What happens if my phone battery dies?

If your phone battery dies:

  • Your information remains securely stored in the cloud.

  • Your authorized emergency contacts still have access to shared information.

  • Scheduled check-ins will continue to be sent to the phone number associated with your account.

If your phone is powered off or out of battery, you will not receive or be able to respond to scheduled check-ins.

If a scheduled check-in goes unanswered, the system will notify your designated emergency contacts according to your settings, regardless of whether your phone is powered on.

Life Backup Plan strongly recommends keeping your phone charged at all times so that you do not miss check-ins and your emergency contacts are not notified unnecessarily.

You can log in to your account from another internet-connected device to view or update your information. However, check-in notifications are sent to the phone number listed on your account unless you update your contact settings.

As with any technology platform, delivery of notifications depends on cellular service, internet connectivity, and system availability.

Life Backup Plan is designed to support proactive communication and coordination. It is not a replacement for emergency services or 911.

Does Life Backup Plan work if I don't have strong cell service?

Life Backup Plan relies on cellular service or internet connectivity to send and receive check-ins and notifications.

In areas with weak, limited, or no cellular coverage, notifications may be delayed or unavailable depending on your carrier, signal strength, and local network conditions. If a scheduled check-in notification does not successfully reach your device, the system will register it as unanswered and will notify your designated emergency contacts according to your settings.

If you regularly spend time in areas with spotty or unreliable service, we strongly recommend testing your coverage in those locations before relying on scheduled check-ins. You may also choose to temporarily disable scheduled check-ins when entering areas with limited connectivity to avoid unnecessary notifications to your emergency contacts.

As with any mobile-based system, performance depends on your carrier, regional infrastructure, and overall network availability.

Life Backup Plan is designed to enhance proactive communication and coordination, but it cannot function without cellular or internet connectivity.

What if I put my phone on Do Not Disturb?

If your phone is set to Do Not Disturb, notification behavior depends on your device settings.

Many smartphones allow you to customize Do Not Disturb settings so that certain apps, contacts, or notifications can still come through. You may be able to configure your phone to allow notifications from Life Backup Plan even while Do Not Disturb is enabled.

We recommend reviewing your device’s notification and Do Not Disturb settings to ensure you receive scheduled check-ins as intended.

If a scheduled check-in notification is silenced or not received due to your phone’s settings, the system will register it as unanswered and will notify your designated emergency contacts according to your settings.

If you frequently use Do Not Disturb, consider testing your check-in settings to confirm notifications behave as expected.

Life Backup Plan cannot override your device’s notification controls. Proper configuration of your phone settings is part of ensuring reliable check-in performance.

Does it work without WiFi?

Yes — Wi-Fi is not required.

Life Backup Plan uses internet connectivity to deliver check-in notifications through the app. That internet connection can come from either:

  • Cellular data through your mobile service plan, or

  • A Wi-Fi connection.

When a scheduled check-in is sent, you receive:

  • An in-app notification asking you to confirm you are okay, and

  • An SMS text message reminding you to check the notification.

The in-app notification is what you must respond to.
The text message is simply a reminder that a check-in has been sent.

If your phone does not have internet connectivity (via cellular data or Wi-Fi) at the time a check-in is sent, you will not receive the in-app notification and cannot respond.

If a check-in goes unanswered, the system will register it as no response and will notify your designated emergency contacts according to your settings.

SMS reminders and any text-based communication with your emergency contacts require active cellular service through your carrier.

As with any mobile-based platform, performance depends on internet availability, carrier coverage, and overall network conditions.

I don't speak English. What do I do?

At this time, Life Backup Plan is available in English only.

Expanding the platform to support multiple languages is one of our highest priorities. We are actively planning future multilingual support to make Life Backup Plan accessible to a broader global community.

Our goal is to offer the application in the most widely spoken languages worldwide in future releases.

In the meantime, some users choose to:

  • Ask a bilingual family member or trusted contact to assist with setup

  • Use built-in translation tools available on many smartphones and browsers

  • Have a designated contact help manage check-ins and information updates

We are committed to improving accessibility and expanding language support as the platform grows.

Can I use it without sharing my exact GPS location publicly?

Yes. Life Backup Plan does not currently use real-time GPS tracking.

At this time, the application does not access or transmit your live location data. You may have location services enabled on your phone, but Life Backup Plan does not currently use that information.

Location-sharing capabilities are a planned future feature intended to help users provide accurate location information to their designated emergency contacts or first responders when assistance is needed.

If and when location services are enabled within Life Backup Plan, any location data would be shared only with authorized emergency contacts or responders according to your settings — not publicly.

Life Backup Plan does not publish, broadcast, or make your GPS location available to the public.

Assistance and Rural Health applications

There aren't many people providing assistance in my area. What do I do?

Life Backup Plan is designed to grow stronger as more people in a community participate.

If you don’t yet see many assistance providers in your area, you can:

  • Invite friends, neighbors, or family members to join

  • Share Life Backup Plan within your local community groups

  • Encourage trusted individuals to enroll as assistance providers

The value of Life Backup Plan increases as more people connect, offer support, and participate in the platform. As local participation grows, users benefit from broader availability and stronger community coordination.

We are actively expanding our user base and building community participation across regions. Early adopters play an important role in helping strengthen local support networks.

Even if local assistance participation is still growing in your area, you can still use Life Backup Plan for personal safety, emergency contacts, medical history and symptoms, wellness and lifestyle tracking, and and scheduled check-ins.

I need a ride to a Doctor's appointment and can't afford Lyft or Uber. Will Life Backup Plan help me?

Life Backup Plan is not a transportation service, and we do not guarantee that rides will be available on demand.

However, the platform is designed to help coordinate assistance within your trusted network and local community.

If you need a ride, you may be able to:

  • Request help from designated contacts

  • Connect with local assistance providers participating in your area

  • Coordinate support through your personal network within the app

Availability depends on participation in your region and the willingness of individuals to offer assistance.

Many users find that having an organized way to request help makes it easier for friends, family members, or community members to step in when needed.

Life Backup Plan is designed to enhance coordination and connection — not replace professional transportation services.

I'm homebound and need help getting groceries and prescriptions delivered. Will Life Backup Plan help me with that?

Life Backup Plan is not a delivery service and does not directly provide grocery or prescription fulfillment.

However, the platform is designed to help you coordinate assistance with trusted contacts and participating community members.

If you need help, you may be able to:

  • Request assistance from designated family members or friends

  • Connect with local participants who offer support

  • Coordinate errands through your personal network within the app

Availability depends on participation in your area and the willingness of individuals to provide assistance.

Many users find that having a structured way to request help makes it easier for others to step in and provide practical support when needed.

Life Backup Plan is designed to facilitate connection and coordination — not replace professional delivery or pharmacy services.

I live in a rural or remote area. Can Life Backup Plan still help me?

Yes.

Life Backup Plan can be used anywhere you have internet connectivity through cellular data or Wi-Fi.

Life Backup Plan is a cloud-based digital health, safety, wellness, lifestyle, care coordination, assistance, and emergency preparedness platform. You can use it in rural, remote, or low-density areas to organize medical history, medications, and symptoms, contacts, schedule proactive check-ins, share medical information at your sole discretion, and request assistance from trusted individuals.

Availability of local assistance providers may vary depending on participation in your area. However, you can help strengthen your local network by using the Offer Assistance and Request Assistance features within Life Backup Plan. As more people participate, connections grow and communities become more supportive.

Several years ago, I had the great privilege of seeing Paul McCartney perform at Petco Park in San Diego. During the concert, he shared a closing lyric he wrote for The Beatles’ 1969 album Abbey Road, from the song “The End”: “The love you take is equal to the love you make.”

That line did not create my belief in reciprocity. I believed in that principle long before the concert. That one sentence, though, perfectly captures what I have always felt: the effort, kindness, and support we give to others is what ultimately comes back to us.

Life Backup Plan is built on that same philosophy. Strong communities are formed when people participate, offer support, and look out for one another, especially in rural and remote areas where connection is more critical.

This keeps:

I'm approved for In Home Supportive Services (IHSS). Will Life Backup Plan help me find a provider in my area?

Life Backup Plan is not affiliated with IHSS or county social services, and we do not assign or place IHSS providers through any government program.

However, within the Offer Assistance feature of the platform, individuals may indicate that they are an IHSS provider. Likewise, users requesting assistance may select IHSS provider support as a type of assistance they are seeking.

If an individual has signed up and identified themselves as an IHSS provider, the system may facilitate a connection between the person offering assistance and the person requesting it.

Any decision to work together, confirm eligibility, verify credentials, or arrange services is made directly between the individuals involved.

Availability depends on participation in your area and whether IHSS providers have chosen to identify themselves within the platform.

Life Backup Plan facilitates connection and coordination. It does not replace county-administered IHSS processes or determine eligibility, certification, or employment status.

What happens during a large-scale emergency (wildfire, hurricane, blackout)?

During any large-scale emergency, your first priority should always be to follow official evacuation orders and guidance from local authorities.

Life Backup Plan can continue functioning during emergencies as long as your device has power and internet connectivity. We strongly recommend keeping your phone charged and taking it with you if you evacuate. If you have scheduled check-ins enabled, be sure to respond so your designated contacts know you are safe.

If a scheduled check-in goes unanswered, your emergency contacts will be notified according to your settings.

During large-scale events, Life Backup Plan can help by allowing you to:

  • Store and share important health and medical information

  • Maintain organized emergency contacts

  • Request or offer assistance when connectivity is available

  • Keep essential lifestyle, wellness, and care coordination information accessible

  • Store important documents such as advance directives, durable health care powers of attorney, and other estate planning materials for authorized access

Having this information centralized can reduce confusion and help trusted contacts understand your wishes during stressful or rapidly evolving situations.

Future goals include closer integration with emergency services and search and rescue personnel to enable more efficient use of resources during large-scale emergencies. These capabilities are part of our long-term vision and are not currently active features.

Life Backup Plan supports preparedness, health information organization, and assistance coordination. It does not replace official emergency services or disaster response systems.

Multi-User / Contact Scenarios

Can multiple family members monitor or assist me?

Yes.

You decide who is notified in the event of an unanswered check-in. Notification settings are customizable for each Check On you create, and you control both the recipients and the order in which they are contacted.

For example, you may choose one set of contacts to be notified in a specific order when you are in one location, and a different set of contacts when you are in another location.

You remain in control of who is notified, when they are notified, and the sequence of notification.

Can I choose who gets notified in an emergency?

Yes.

You control who is notified if a scheduled check-in goes unanswered. For each Check On you create, you can:

  • Select which individuals will be notified

  • Set the order in which they are contacted

  • Customize notification settings based on location or circumstance

You may choose different notification groups depending on where you are or the type of check-in you schedule.

In addition, you control what medical or personal information is shared and with whom. Access to your health details can be customized on an individual basis, allowing you to decide which contacts may view specific information.

You can update your notification and sharing preferences at any time.

Can I change my emergency contacts at any time?

Yes.

You can update your emergency contacts at any time. You may add new contacts, remove existing ones, and reorder the sequence in which they are notified.

Changes take effect based on your current settings, allowing you to adjust your support network as your circumstances change.

You remain in control of who is notified and the order in which they are contacted.

What if my primary contact doesn’t respond?

Life Backup Plan notifies your emergency contacts in the order you select.

If your primary contact does not respond, the system automatically proceeds to the next person on your notification list according to your settings.

We strongly encourage users to designate multiple emergency contacts for each scheduled Check On to ensure broader coverage.

Notification continues in the order you have established, helping increase the likelihood that someone in your trusted network will respond.

Life Backup Plan facilitates notification and escalation based on your settings. It does not guarantee that a specific individual will respond.

Reliability and Response Logic

What happens if I don’t respond to a check-in?

If you do not respond to a scheduled Check On within the configured time period, the system will register it as unanswered. It will retry at the interval you select, for the number of times you select. If all those go unanswered, Life Backup Plan will mark that as an unanswered Check On.

Once a Check On is marked unanswered, Life Backup Plan will notify your designated emergency contacts in the order you selected.

If the first contact does not respond, the system proceeds to the next person in your notification sequence according to your settings.

This process is automatic and based entirely on the preferences you have configured.

We strongly encourage users to designate multiple emergency contacts to increase the likelihood that someone in their trusted network can respond.

Life Backup Plan facilitates notification and escalation based on your settings. It does not guarantee that a specific individual will respond.

How does the system decide who to notify first?

The system does not decide. You do.

When you create a Check On, you choose which contacts will be notified if you do not respond and the order in which they will be contacted.

If you have multiple emergency contacts, simply arrange them in your preferred sequence when setting up the Check On. If the Check On goes unanswered, Life Backup Plan will notify them in that exact order.

You remain in full control of your notification preferences and can update them at any time.

Does Life Backup Plan automatically escalate if no one responds?

Life Backup Plan automatically escalates notifications within your designated contact list.

If a scheduled Check On goes unanswered, the system will notify your emergency contacts in the order you selected. If the first contact does not respond, the system proceeds to the next person in your notification sequence according to your settings.

Escalation is limited to the contacts you have chosen. Life Backup Plan does not automatically contact 911, law enforcement, or emergency services.

Users are responsible for configuring appropriate emergency contacts and ensuring those individuals understand their role.

Life Backup Plan does not currently contact 911 or emergency services directly.

Any future integration with public emergency systems would require regulatory compliance and formal implementation. No such capability is active at this time.

Life Backup Plan supports proactive notification and coordination. It does not replace emergency response services.

Is there 24/7 monitoring?

Life Backup Plan does not provide live, staffed 24/7 monitoring.

That said, you may schedule as many proactive Check Ons within a 24-hour period as you would like. For each Check On, you will receive a notification prompting you to confirm your status by selecting the green option to indicate you are okay or the red option, or you can choose to not answer at all, to indicate you need assistance.

If you do not respond to a scheduled Check On, or press the red button indicating you need assistance, the system will register it as unanswered and notify your designated emergency contacts in the order you have selected.

You may also configure Check Ons to repeat at intervals you define. If repeated Check Ons continue to go unanswered, the system will escalate notifications to your emergency contacts according to your configured sequence.

Life Backup Plan provides automated check-ins and escalation based on your preferences. It is not a live staffed monitoring or emergency dispatch service and does not replace professional emergency response providers.

Institutional and Crossover use

Can Life Backup Plan be used by caregivers managing multiple individuals?

Yes.

Life Backup Plan can be used by caregivers who support more than one individual. The platform allows information, Check Ons, emergency contacts, and preferences to be organized for each person separately.

Caregivers can help configure Check Ons, manage contact lists, store important health and safety information, and assist with coordination for the individuals they support.

Each individual’s settings, notification preferences, and shared information can be customized independently, allowing caregivers to tailor support based on specific needs.

Because of this flexibility, Life Backup Plan can also support coordination within structured care environments, including home health organizations, concierge medicine practices, post-discharge support teams, and other care-focused services.

Life Backup Plan facilitates organization and communication. It does not replace licensed medical supervision or clinical care.

3. Healthcare, Data and Privacy

Data Security and Storage

Is my health information HIPAA compliant?

Life Backup Plan is not a healthcare provider, insurer, or related organization and is, therefore, not a “covered entity” under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). However, we recognize that users may choose to store personal health information within the platform, and we take the protection of that information seriously.

Our infrastructure and security practices are designed to align with HIPAA security principles where applicable. This includes:

• Enterprise-grade cloud hosting
• Encryption of data in transit
• Encryption of data at rest within storage systems
• Role-based and least-privilege access controls
• Segregated database credentials and restricted administrative access
• Staff training and documented security governance practices

For institutional partnerships, Life Backup Plan can operate under Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) when required.

While HIPAA does not formally certify software platforms, we continuously evaluate and strengthen our security posture to align with recognized healthcare data protection standards.

How do I share my medical information with someone so they can help me?

You stay in control.

When you enter personal health information into the Life Backup Plan app, you can designate trusted contacts who are authorized to view the information you choose to share. Sharing is customizable on a line-by-line basis, so you decide exactly what each person can see.

Your designated contact can then relay that information to first responders or emergency room personnel if needed.

In future updates, we are developing functionality that would allow authorized medical information to be shared directly with first responders or emergency departments — but only with your explicit authorization and according to your specific sharing preferences.

Where is my data stored?

Life Backup Plan uses established, enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure providers to host platform data. These providers maintain industry-standard physical, network, and environmental security controls. Specific infrastructure partners are not publicly disclosed for security reasons.

Is my information encrypted?

Yes. Life Backup Plan uses industry-standard encryption practices to help protect your information.

  • Data at rest is encrypted using encryption provided by our cloud infrastructure providers, including database storage and file storage.

  • Data in transit is protected using secure, encrypted connections (such as HTTPS/TLS).

We use reputable, enterprise-grade cloud services that apply encryption by default and follow established security best practices.

While no system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure, we take reasonable and appropriate steps to protect personal and sensitive information and continuously evaluate improvements as the platform evolves.

Who has access to my personal and medical information?

You do, and those you designate.

Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel who require access for operational, technical, or support purposes. Access is governed by internal controls and confidentiality obligations.

Life Backup Plan complies with applicable legal and statutory requirements. In limited circumstances, user information may be disclosed in response to valid legal process, such as a court order, subpoena, or warrant, as required by law.

Can Life Backup Plan staff see my private medical details?

Life Backup Plan personnel do not access private medical information except when necessary for technical support, security monitoring, or user-requested assistance. All personnel are bound by confidentiality requirements.

What happens to my data if I cancel my membership?

Data retention practices are governed by internal policies and applicable legal requirements. Specific retention timelines may vary depending on account status and regulatory considerations.

How long is my information retained?

Data is stored on a highly secure, world famous cloud-based service.  There are no local copies anywhere.

HIPAA, Compliance, and Medical Boundaries

Is Life Backup Plan a healthcare provider?

No. No information contained within the app is to be construed as medical advice or diagnosis by anyone in any capacity in any jurisdiction at any time.

Does Life Backup Plan replace my doctor or medical care?

No. Life Backup Plan recommends you have regular appointments with licensed healthcare providers for your preventative medicine, health and wellness needs.

How does Life Backup Plan comply with healthcare privacy regulations?

Life Backup Plan is not a healthcare provider and does not provide medical treatment or medical advice. However, we recognize that users may choose to store personal health information within the app.

We are committed to safeguarding that information through administrative, technical, and physical security measures designed to protect against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

Where applicable, we align our data handling practices with relevant federal and state privacy standards. We also limit access to user data, use secure infrastructure, and implement encryption and other protective technologies to help ensure responsible data stewardship.

Protecting your personal information is central to our mission and to the trust you place in us.

Can healthcare providers directly access my information?

No. Healthcare providers do not have direct access to your information within Life Backup Plan.

You control who can view your information. If you choose to share it, you may provide access to designated trusted contacts, who can relay information to medical professionals when appropriate.

In future updates, we are exploring secure methods that could allow authorized healthcare providers to access selected information — but only with your explicit permission and subject to appropriate security safeguards.

Is my information shared with third parties?

No — we do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

Your identifiable personal health information is not shared with third parties without your authorization, except where required by law (such as in response to a valid court order, warrant, or subpoena).

We may use or share de-identified and aggregated data — information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you — for research, statistical analysis, system improvement, or reporting purposes.

We may also use trusted service providers (such as secure cloud hosting and infrastructure partners) to operate the platform. These providers are contractually required to safeguard your information.

Your privacy and control over your information are fundamental to Life Backup Plan’s mission.

Advanced Directives and Medical Wishes

I've seen and heard of people laying for hours or days on life support systems because doctors didn't have the patient's advanced directive. Can you help me prevent that?

Life Backup Plan does not replace formal legal or medical processes. However, it can help ensure that the right people know your wishes and know where to find the documents that express them.

If you have an advance directive, durable healthcare power of attorney, Do Not Resuscitate (DNR) order, or similar document, you can record within the app:

  • That the document exists

  • Where it is physically stored

  • Which trusted individuals have copies

  • Where those copies are kept

In an emergency, your designated contacts can quickly locate and provide the appropriate documents to doctors, hospitals, or family members so your wishes can be honored.

In future updates, we plan to offer secure document storage and controlled digital sharing within the app — always at your sole discretion.

Life Backup Plan is designed to support preparedness, clarity, and communication so your voice is heard, even if you cannot speak for yourself.

Can I upload and store my advance directive?

At this time, Life Backup Plan does not offer direct document upload or storage for advance directives or other legal documents.

However, you can record within the app:

  • That your advance directive exists

  • Where the original document is stored

  • Who has copies

  • Where those copies are kept

This ensures that trusted contacts can quickly locate and provide the appropriate documents when needed.

In future updates, we plan to introduce secure document storage and controlled sharing capabilities, allowing you to upload and manage important documents directly within the app.

All document sharing will remain fully under your control.

Can I update my medical wishes at any time?

Yes. You may update the information in your account at any time.

Life Backup Plan is designed to reflect your current preferences. If your medical wishes, designated contacts, or document locations change, you can update them directly within the app so your information remains accurate and up to date.

How can emergency contacts access my medical instructions?

Your designated emergency contacts can access the information you have authorized them to view within the app.

In an emergency, they can relay your medical wishes, document locations, and designated decision-makers to healthcare providers or family members to help ensure your preferences are honored.

What if I don’t yet have an advance directive?

Life Backup Plan does not create legal documents. However, if you do not yet have an advance directive or related documents, we encourage you to speak with a licensed attorney or qualified professional to establish them.

You may still record your general preferences and designate trusted contacts within the app to help communicate your wishes.

We have established relationships with select estate planning professionals in various states. You may explore available resources on our Partnerships page to learn more.

Home Access and Emergency Instructions

How Secure are my Home Access Instructions?

Life Backup Plan treats all user information, ncluding home access instructions, as sensitive data.

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect against unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Access to user data is restricted based on role and operational necessity, and we use secure infrastructure and encryption technologies to help safeguard stored information.

We also maintain internal policies governing data handling and access controls.

Your information is not publicly accessible and is only viewable according to your designated sharing permissions and authorized operational requirements.

Protecting your safety and privacy is fundamental to our mission.

Who can see my Home Access Instructions?

Only individuals you explicitly authorize can view your home access instructions.

Access is controlled by your designated sharing permissions within the app. Life Backup Plan personnel do not access user information except as required for authorized operational, security, or legal purposes.

Your information is not publicly visible and is never shared without your authorization, except where required by law.

Are my access instructions shared automatically with first responders?

No. Home access instructions are not automatically transmitted to first responders.

At this time, information within Life Backup Plan is shared only according to your designated permissions. If an emergency arises, your authorized contacts may relay instructions or relevant information to appropriate parties.

We are exploring secure, user-authorized sharing options for future updates.

Can I change or revoke access instructions at any time?

Yes. You may update, modify, or revoke access to your home access instructions at any time within the app.

Life Backup Plan is designed to reflect your current preferences. Changes take effect according to your updated sharing settings.

You remain in control of who can view your information.

Special Situations

What happens to my data if I travel internationally?

Your data remains stored on secure infrastructure and is protected in accordance with our security and privacy policies, regardless of where you access your account.

Access to your information continues to be governed by your account permissions and applicable laws. Traveling internationally does not automatically change who can view your information.

Users are responsible for complying with local laws regarding device use and internet access when traveling abroad.

Is my data protected if I lose my phone?

Yes. Your data is associated with your account — not stored openly on your device.

If your phone is lost or stolen, unauthorized individuals cannot access your information without your account credentials. We recommend using strong passwords and enabling device-level security features such as biometric authentication or passcodes.

If you believe your account may be compromised, you should change your password immediately.

Can someone misuse my account if my device is stolen?

If your device is stolen and remains unlocked, there is potential risk — just as with any app containing personal information.

However, Life Backup Plan relies on account authentication and user permissions to protect access. We strongly recommend:

  • Enabling device lock protections

  • Using strong, unique passwords

  • Logging out of shared devices

If you suspect unauthorized access, you should change your password immediately and contact support.

4. Emergency and Coordination

How does a First Responder get into my home?

There are two pathways in which a First Responder can enter your home without having to break your door down:

1. You store your home access instructions, i.e. the location of a key you have hidden outside your home or the code to your home security system, in the app and, if a first responder is called, Life Backup Plan, ONLY IF YOU GRANT PERMISSION, will share that information with the first responder.

2. You designate which, if any, of your contacts have your home access instructions, and they can open your home for you in the event of an emergency, or they can share those details with the first responder directly.

Either way, it is 100% your choice as to whether you store your home access instructions in the Life Backup Plan app, and with whom that information is shared, under what set of circumstances. You're always in control of your data sharing.

Does Life Backup Plan help if I need to be evacuated?

Yes. Life Backup Plan centralizes the critical information that emergency personnel, hospitals, shelters, and family members may need during an evacuation.

In the event of a wildfire, hurricane, flood, or other disaster, you can quickly access and share:

  • Emergency contacts

  • Medical conditions and allergies

  • Medication lists

  • Insurance information

  • Physician contacts

  • Special needs or mobility limitations

  • Pet information

  • Home access instructions (if you choose to store them)

You control who can access your information and under what circumstances.

Life Backup Plan does not replace 911, FEMA, or local emergency services — but it ensures your essential information is organized, portable, and ready when seconds matter.

Looking Ahead

In future phases, Life Backup Plan plans to explore direct coordination pathways with emergency services to support individuals who require evacuation assistance due to mobility limitations or medical vulnerability.

The goal is to allow users — if they choose — to flag that they may need physical evacuation assistance during a declared emergency, helping response teams identify households that require additional support.

This feature is not currently active and would only operate with user authorization and in coordination with appropriate public agencies.

Can FEMA use this as part of their Emergency Preparedness?

Life Backup Plan is designed to support personal and household emergency preparedness by organizing the information that disaster response agencies often request during and after a declared emergency.

While Life Backup Plan is not currently integrated with FEMA systems, it can help individuals and families prepare by securely storing:

  • Household member information
  • Emergency contacts
  • Insurance documentation
  • Medical conditions and medication lists
  • Special assistance or mobility needs
  • Evacuation preferences
  • Pet information
  • Critical document locations

During a disaster, users can quickly access or share this information with emergency personnel, relief organizations, or temporary shelter providers — based on the permissions they choose.

Future Collaboration Opportunities

Life Backup Plan is exploring future partnership opportunities with public agencies and disaster response organizations to support more coordinated emergency communication and vulnerability awareness — particularly for seniors, individuals with disabilities, and medically fragile populations.

Any future integration would be voluntary, user-authorized, and developed in coordination with appropriate public agencies.

I have dependent minor and adult children. Who takes care of them in an emergency?

In the current version of Life Backup Plan, you can include trusted individuals — such as family members, neighbors, or pet sitters — in your emergency contact list so they can be notified if needed.

Dedicated pet and animal care coordination features are planned for a future release.

Future development is intended to support expanded planning tools for pets, livestock, and agricultural operations to help households prepare more comprehensively for emergencies.

Who takes care of my dogs and cats if I have a medical emergency?

In the current version of Life Backup Plan, you can include trusted individuals — such as family members, neighbors, or pet sitters — in your emergency contact list.

If you experience a medical emergency, your designated emergency contacts can be notified, allowing them to step in and provide assistance — including care for pets — if needed.

Life Backup Plan does not currently provide dedicated pet-care coordination tools. Expanded animal care planning features, including support for pets and potentially livestock, are part of a planned future release.

You remain in control of who is listed as an emergency contact and when notifications are triggered.

What happens after I trigger an emergency alert?

When you activate an emergency alert, your designated emergency contacts are notified based on your settings.

Life Backup Plan does not dispatch emergency services directly, but your contacts can respond quickly, check on you, or contact 911 if needed.

Can Life Backup Plan call 911 for me?
What if I live alone?
How quickly are my emergency contacts notified?
Can I update my emergency contacts at any time?
Is my emergency information shared automatically?

No. Life Backup Plan only shares information according to your chosen settings and permissions.

You control who is notified and what information is accessible.

5. Planning and Legacy

I don't want my family fighting over my belongings when I pass away. Do you have anything that can help me with that?

Family conflict after a loss often stems from confusion, not intention.

Clear communication today can prevent unnecessary tension tomorrow.

Life Backup Plan helps reduce that confusion and stress by giving you a structured way to organize important information, clarify your wishes, and identify where key documents are stored.

You can:

• Document where your estate planning documents are located
• Identify trusted contacts and decision-makers, if they have copies of your estate planning documents, and where those are located.
• Provide written guidance about personal items or special belongings
• Leave clear instructions about who should be notified and what steps should be taken

When expectations are clarified in advance, misunderstandings are far less likely to occur.

Life Backup Plan does not provide legal advice or create legal documents and, thus, does not replace a legally binding will, trust, or personal property memorandum. However, it can serve as a coordination layer that ensures your loved ones know where to look and what you intended — helping preserve relationships during an already difficult time.

We strongly encourage all users to work with a licensed estate planning attorney to create legally binding documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. You may visit our Strategic Referrals and Partners page to find attorneys we have partnered with in your state, or you are welcome to work with a professional of your choice.

How is Life Backup Plan different from a will or trust?

Life Backup Plan does not provide legal advice or create legal documents.

A will and/or trust are legal documents that an estate planning attorney can create for you.

  • We organize the existence and location of the documents you have.
  • We enable you to indicate contacts who have copies of your critical legal and medical documents, and where they have stored those.
  • We reduce stress during crisis.

In a future version, it will be possible to store the actual documents.

We strongly encourage all users to work with a licensed estate planning attorney to create legally binding documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. You may visit our Strategic Referrals and Partners page to find attorneys we have partnered with in your state, or you are welcome to work with a professional of your choice.

Can Life Backup Plan store copies of my will, trust, or power of attorney?

In Spring, 2026, Life Backup Plan does not store any documents. That is a feature planned for a forthcoming version.

  • Yes, you can securely store the existence and location of your legal and medical documents
  • We are not a legal drafting service.
  • We recommend working with a qualified estate planning attorney.

We strongly encourage all users to work with a licensed estate planning attorney to create legally binding documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. You may visit our Strategic Referrals and Partners page to find attorneys we have partnered with in your state, or you are welcome to work with a professional of your choice.

What happens to my account when I pass away?

Life Backup Plan does not provide legal advice or draft legal documents.

Life Backup Plan is designed to bring clarity during crisis, including after a loss.

When creating your account, you may designate trusted contacts (such as a spouse, adult child, executor, or other authorized individual). In the event of your passing, your designated contact can notify Life Backup Plan and request access to the information you intended to share.

To protect your privacy and prevent misuse, we follow a structured verification process before releasing access. This may include documentation such as a death certificate or proof of legal authority (for example, an executor or trustee designation).

Once verified:

• Your designated contact can access the information you authorized for sharing
• Critical documents and instructions can be retrieved
• Emergency contacts and care instructions remain available
• Your account can either be archived or permanently closed, based on your preferences and family request

We do not sell, transfer, or commercially exploit user data after death.

Our goal is to ensure your information supports your loved ones — not create confusion or conflict during an already difficult time.

Life Backup Plan complements, not replaces, formal estate planning.

We strongly encourage all users to work with a licensed estate planning attorney to create legally binding documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. You may visit our Strategic Referrals and Partners page to find attorneys we have partnered with in your state, or you are welcome to work with a professional of your choice.

Can I leave instructions for personal items, digital accounts, or pets?

Life Backup Plan does not provide legal advice or create legal documents.

Life Backup Plan is designed to help organize and communicate important information, but certain features are being expanded in future releases.

At this time:

• You may securely store the existence and location of important documents related to your estate planning.
• You may indicate which contacts have copies of your important documents and where those are located.

Planned future enhancements include:

• Dedicated fields for digital accounts and access instructions
• Expanded care plan options, including pet care coordination
• Structured tracking for personal property memoranda and other state-specific estate documents

We are actively developing expanded estate organization tools to better align with state-level document requirements and best practices.

We strongly encourage all users to work with a licensed estate planning attorney to create legally binding documents such as wills, trusts, and powers of attorney. You may visit our Strategic Referrals and Partners page to find attorneys we have partnered with in your state, or you are welcome to work with a professional of your choice.

Does Life Backup Plan replace the need for an estate plan?

No.

We are not lawyers and provide no legal advice, nor do we create legal documents.

We complement, not replace, estate planning.

We recommend you speak to a licensed estate planning attorney in your state to create these, and other, legal documents. Visit Strategic Referrals and Partners for attorneys we have partnered with in your state, or feel free to select your own.

6. Organizational Deployment

What types of organizations can deploy Life Backup Plan?

Life Backup Plan is designed to be deployed across a wide range of organizations that serve employees, members, patients, students, or community populations.

Eligible organizations include:

  • Private employers (small businesses through large enterprises)
  • Healthcare systems, clinics, and provider groups
  • Large-scale event organizers, venue operators, and temporary workforce coordinators
  • Health plans and managed care organizations
  • Federal, state, and local government agencies
  • Educational institutions (K–12 and higher education)
  • Non-profit and community-based organizations

Life Backup Plan is well-suited for large-scale event organizers, venue operators, and temporary workforce coordinators managing distributed teams, volunteers, contractors, or high-attendance public events like large-scale sporting events, international tournaments, multi-venue public events, national conventions, and global athletic competitions. The platform can support preparedness, emergency contact coordination, health and safety tracking, and structured communication across temporary or geographically dispersed populations.

Organizations involved in evacuation planning, temporary relocation, disaster response, public emergencies, or unexpected health events can leverage Life Backup Plan to improve continuity and reduce preventable disruption.

Life Backup Plan is especially aligned with non-profit organizations serving vulnerable or at-risk populations, including:

• Seniors, caregiving, and aging-in-place organizations
• Domestic violence prevention and survivor support programs
• Human trafficking prevention and recovery services
• Veteran services organizations

The platform may be deployed as an employee benefit, member resource, patient-support tool, emergency preparedness solution, or community safety and resilience initiative.

Life Backup Plan is adaptable to workforce populations, individuals, community members, and vulnerable client populations alike. It enables organizations to strengthen preparedness, improve coordination, and support continuity of care and communication without taking ownership of personal health data or private legal information.

Can Employers provide this as a benefit?

Yes. Life Backup Plan is available to employers as a voluntary or employer-sponsored benefit designed to support employee safety, preparedness, wellness, and coordination.

Organizations can provide access as part of:

• Employee wellness initiatives
• Benefits packages
• Risk management or duty-of-care programs
• Emergency preparedness planning
• Caregiver support resources

By helping employees organize critical health, emergency, and planning information in advance, employers can reduce workplace disruption caused by preventable crises, improve employee confidence and preparedness, and support overall workforce resilience.

Life Backup Plan is structured so that individual employee data remains private. Employers sponsor access to the platform but do not have visibility into personal health details, legal documents, or individual account content unless explicitly authorized by the user.

Implementation models may include employer-funded access, shared-cost arrangements, or voluntary enrollment options depending on organizational needs.

Can Healthcare providers deploy this across patient populations?

Yes. Life Backup Plan is available to Healthcare providers to support patient engagement, preparedness, and continuity across a wide range of care settings and patient populations.

The platform is well-suited for organizations including:

• Hospitals and health systems
• Home health and hospice providers
• Wound care and specialty care organizations
• Assisted living and senior care communities
• Concierge and membership-based practices
• Rural health providers

The platform complements existing clinical workflows in areas such as:

  • Post-discharge monitoring and follow-up
  • Transitional care and caregiver communication
  • Care navigation and chronic condition support
  • Rural health and geographically dispersed populations

Life Backup Plan is not a diagnostic tool and does not replace electronic medical records or clinical documentation systems. Instead, it serves as a structured coordination layer that helps patients organize important health information, emergency contacts, and care-related details, mproving clarity and communication outside of clinical settings.

By empowering patients to maintain organized, accessible information, healthcare organizations can strengthen engagement, reduce avoidable confusion, and streamline non-clinical coordination. This can help alleviate administrative workload for care teams and support more proactive communication outside of scheduled appointments.

Deployment models can be tailored to specific patient cohorts, service lines, or broader population health initiatives.

Can Life Backup Plan operate under a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)?

Yes. For institutional partnerships where required, Life Backup Plan can operate under a Business Associate Agreement (BAA).

While Life Backup Plan is not a covered entity under HIPAA, we recognize that certain deployment environments may involve protected health information (PHI). In those cases, we align our security and operational practices with applicable HIPAA Security Rule requirements and can enter into BAAs with covered entities or business associates as appropriate.

Our infrastructure includes:

• Encryption of data in transit
• Encryption of data at rest
• Role-based and least-privilege access controls
• Segregated credentials and restricted administrative access
• Documented security governance practices

We continue to strengthen our security posture as we scale institutional deployments.

How is user data protected when deployed through an employer or organization?

Life Backup Plan is designed so that individual users retain control over their personal information, even when access to the platform is provided through an employer, healthcare provider, insurer, government program, or other organization.

In these deployments:

• Individual account data is not visible to employers, healthcare providers, insurers, or partner organizations unless explicitly authorized by the user
• No organization providing access to the platform can view personal health information, legal documents, or private account content without user authorization
• Platform-level administrative access is restricted to authorized Life Backup Plan personnel and governed by role-based, least-privilege controls
• Data is encrypted in transit using industry-standard protocols
• Data is encrypted at rest within storage systems
• Segregated credentials and controlled system access limit infrastructure-level exposure
• Documented security governance policies guide internal handling procedures
• Staff members receive privacy and security training

Life Backup Plan is structured to protect individual privacy while enabling organizations to offer the platform in support of wellness initiatives, health and safety programs, and proactive awareness efforts. Users may track and organize personal health, lifestyle, and preparedness information that can be shared with healthcare professionals during routine visits or urgent situations. When individuals maintain clearer, more accessible information, organizations may experience improved continuity, workforce resilience, and reduced avoidable disruption.

We continuously review and strengthen our security posture as institutional partnerships expand.

Does this integrate with case management workflows?

Life Backup Plan is designed to complement existing case management and clinical systems.

While the platform does not yet directly integrate with electronic health record (EHR) systems, it is designed to support case management workflows by enabling individuals to organize and share relevant information with care teams, case managers, ancillary health providers, and other support staff as appropriate.

The platform allows individuals to maintain structured, accessible information that may be referenced during appointments, transitional care, or follow-up coordination. Development is underway to expand user-controlled sharing options, allowing individuals to transmit selected information to designated contacts or healthcare providers through secure communication methods.

Future integration with electronic health record systems and broader interoperability options are planned as partnerships and adoption expand.

Is there an Enterprise dashboard?

Administrative and reporting capabilities vary depending on the deployment model.

At this time, Life Backup Plan is primarily structured around individual user accounts. Organizational-level administrative features and reporting tools can be developed or configured based on the needs of the deploying organization.

As partnerships expand, we are evaluating enhanced dashboard capabilities that may include:

• Enrollment tracking
• Usage metrics at an aggregate level
• Administrative account management
• Custom reporting options

Any organizational reporting is structured to preserve individual privacy and does not provide access to personal health or legal information without user authorization.

We work with organizations to determine the appropriate level of oversight and reporting required for their environment.

How does onboarding work at scale?

Life Backup Plan offers flexible onboarding models based on organizational size and deployment needs.

Organizations may purchase access for a defined number of users and determine eligibility based on their internal policies. Once enrolled, individuals create their own accounts and complete the guided setup process.

Onboarding support may include:

• Access to step-by-step instructional videos
• Written user guides and FAQs
• Custom orientation materials tailored to the organization
• Live virtual training sessions when appropriate

For larger deployments, implementation planning and rollout coordination can be structured to align with internal communication strategies, wellness initiatives, or phased program launches.

Our goal is to ensure adoption is simple, intuitive, and minimally disruptive while preserving user privacy and autonomy.

What is the implementation timeline for organizations?

Implementation timelines vary based on organizational size, deployment scope, and internal review requirements.

For small to mid-sized organizations, deployment can typically begin shortly after agreement execution and administrative setup. Larger organizations or those with formal security, procurement, or compliance reviews may require additional coordination prior to launch.

Because Life Backup Plan is delivered as a cloud-based SaaS platform, infrastructure scaling does not require on-site installation or hardware deployment. Timelines are primarily influenced by:

• Contract review and procurement processes
• Security and compliance assessments
• Internal communication and rollout planning
• Custom onboarding or reporting requirements

We work with each organization to align implementation with their operational and governance needs while minimizing disruption.

Is white-labeling or co-branding available?

Life Backup Plan offers flexible branding options depending on the scope and strategic goals of the partnership.

Co-branding opportunities may include dual-logo placement, customized onboarding materials, and aligned program messaging that integrates the platform into an organization’s existing initiatives.

Full white-label deployments, in which the platform is delivered under a partner’s brand, may be considered for strategic enterprise partnerships, subject to technical, security, and contractual requirements.

All branding configurations are structured to preserve user privacy, maintain platform integrity, and align with long-term partnership goals.

Organizations interested in customization may contact us to discuss scope and feasibility.

7. Trust, Governance and Platform Integrity

Who is behind Life Backup Plan?

Life Backup Plan was founded by Sandy Eulitt, whose background spans nformation technology, space, and systems architecture. With formal training in astrophysics, aerospace engineering, electrical engineering technology, software development and database systems, she brings a multidisciplinary perspective to platform design.

The concept for Life Backup Plan grew out of firsthand experience navigating gaps in healthcare coordination, post-operative monitoring, and health and safety challenges, especially those faced by people who are temporarily or situationally by themselves. Recognizing that too much stress and many preventable crises stem from lack of cohesive systems and preparedness, the platform is designed to improve clarity, continuity, safety, and longevity

Life Backup Plan reflects both technical rigor and lived experience, combining systems-level thinking with practical insight into real-world health and safety challenges.

How is the platform funded?

Life Backup Plan is supported through subscription revenue, strategic partnerships, and direct organizational deployments. The company does not rely on selling user data or monetizing personal information.

Our funding model is designed to align incentives with user trust and long-term platform sustainability.

What safeguards prevent misuse?

Life Backup Plan implements documented security and governance practices to protect user data and prevent unauthorized access. These include:

• Encryption of data in transit
• Encryption of data at rest
• Role-based, least-privilege access controls
• Restricted administrative access
• Staff training on privacy and security practices
• Internal security governance documentation and procedures

Access to sensitive data is limited and governed by formal policies.

How is user data governed internally?

Life Backup Plan maintains documented governance and compliance policies outlining internal access controls, data handling procedures, and incident response planning.

Administrative access is restricted to authorized personnel and reviewed periodically. System credentials are segregated, and infrastructure-level permissions are limited using least-privilege principles.

We continuously evaluate and strengthen internal controls as the platform scales.

How does Life Backup Plan ensure reliability

The platform is hosted on enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure designed for availability and resilience. Because Life Backup Plan is delivered as a cloud-based SaaS platform, updates and improvements can be deployed without requiring user-side installation.

Users retain control of their information and may download or export their data as needed.

What is your long term vision for the platform?

Life Backup Plan is designed to become a globally accessible health, safety, preparedness, and coordination platform that remains independent, privacy-focused, and interoperable across systems.

Our long-term vision is to increase longevity, improve overall wellness, reduce preventable stress, and expand affordability and accessibility for individuals, families, and organizations worldwide.

We are committed to scaling responsibly while preserving platform integrity, user trust, and independence.
