Frequently Asked Questions
How does the 30-day free trial work, and is a credit card required?
If you purchase an individual subscription directly through Life Backup Plan, you receive a 30-day free trial. A credit card is required. Cancel before your trial ends to avoid subscription charges.
If you receive access through an employer, nonprofit, discount program, or other organization, your free trial and payment requirements depend on that program’s terms. Organization-sponsored and discounted subscriptions may also include a free trial.
How much will I be charged after the free trial?
The standard individual Sapphire subscription is $14.99 per month after the free trial. Your subscription renews automatically unless canceled.
If you subscribe through an organization or discount program, your price and any amount you pay depend on that arrangement. Refer to your offer or enrollment terms for your applicable rate.
How do I cancel my subscription before I’m charged?
Open Life Backup Plan, go to your Account, and select the cancellation option. To avoid subscription charges after a free trial, cancel before the trial ends.
Does my subscription cover just me, or also my family and trusted contacts?
Your subscription covers your individual use of Life Backup Plan and allows you to add unlimited trusted contacts, including family and friends. Trusted contacts do not need a subscription to receive alerts. If you enable medical information sharing, your medical information is also sent to them by text message.
Each person who wants to use Life Backup Plan’s subscription features for themselves needs their own subscription.
Are there any equipment costs or additional fees?
No special equipment purchase is required. Life Backup Plan works on compatible smartphones and through a web browser. Standard internet and mobile carrier charges may apply. Any costs for independently arranged services or equipment are separate from your subscription.
Are the Diamond and Alexandrite Plans available now?
Not yet. Sapphire is our currently available plan. Diamond and Alexandrite are planned subscription options that will offer additional capabilities. Release dates have not been announced.
Will planned features be included in my Sapphire subscription?
No. The features listed in the Planned Features section are intended for future subscription plans and are not included in Sapphire. We may improve or refine Sapphire’s existing features over time, but we currently have no plans to add those planned capabilities to the Sapphire Plan.
Is discounted pricing available for organizations purchasing subscriptions for their people?
Yes. Organizations can contact us about discounted pricing for group purchases or sponsored access for employees, members, patients, or the people they serve.
